Job summary

AmeriLife is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support medical and loan underwriting teams, gather requirements, review for completeness, and submit to carriers and lenders. This role involves tracking exams, updating Salesforce Chatter, and ensuring timely completion while maintaining detailed underwriting files.

Responsibilities include assisting with carrier applications, monitoring cases, drafting correspondence, and supporting policy renewals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of life insurance underwriting support experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Salesforce and SharePoint preferred.
• Ability to maintain complete underwriting files and prepare underwriting correspondence.
• Strong data entry and policy administration skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Support the case manager in completing carrier applications and follow-up efforts.
• Monitor each case throughout underwriting and escalate issues when needed.
• Work with carriers to issue policies.
• Download application kits and populate information for Case Manager review.
• Draft informal and formal cover letters for Case Manager review.
• Assist with policy renewals and annual client summaries.
• Maintain organized underwriting files and update Salesforce and Salesforce Chatter.
• Provide administrative support to the Case Manager and underwriting team.
