Job summary
AmeriLife is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support medical and loan underwriting teams for life insurance policies and ongoing servicing. This role communicates with internal and external customers to gather requirements, reviews for completeness, and submits to carriers and lenders for offers.
Responsibilities include tracking exams, updating Salesforce Chatter, and following through to completion. The position requires a minimum of three years of life insurance underwriting support
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of life insurance underwriting support experience in an agency or carrier environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Salesforce and SharePoint is preferred.
- Ability to maintain complete underwriting files and prepare underwriting correspondence.
- Proficiency with data entry and policy administration applications.
Responsibilities
- Support the case manager in completing carrier applications and follow-up efforts.
- Monitor each case throughout underwriting and escalate issues to the Case Manager when needed.
- Work with carriers to issue policies.
- Download application kits and populate information for Case Manager review.
- Draft informal and formal cover letters for Case Manager review.
- Assist clients with routine policy service requests throughout the year.
- Annually review client policy and loan and communicate requirements to the client.
- Maintain organized underwriting files and enter case information in Salesforce/Chatter.
