Job summary

AmeriLife is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support medical and loan underwriting teams, gather requirements, and liaise with carriers and lenders. You will track exams, update Salesforce Chatter, and ensure timely processing of applications and endorsements.

Key duties include assisting with carrier applications, drafting cover letters, and maintaining organized underwriting files. The role emphasizes accuracy, productivity, and customer service in a busy team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of life insurance underwriting support experience.
• Proficiency with data entry and policy administration applications.
• Excellent communication with internal and external customers.
• Experience with Salesforce and SharePoint preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the case manager in completing carrier applications and follow up efforts.
• Monitor each case during underwriting and escalate issues to the Case Manager when needed.
• Work with carriers to issue policies.
• Draft informal and formal cover letters for Case Manager review.
• Assist with annual policy service requests and client summaries.
• Maintain underwriting files and update Salesforce Chatter.
• Provide administrative support to the Case Manager and underwriting team, including data entry and workflow follow-up.
