Job summary

AmeriLife seeks an Underwriting Assistant to support medical and loan underwriting teams in placing life insurance policies and ongoing servicing. You will gather requirements, track exams, update Salesforce Chatter, and ensure timely completion.

The role involves assisting case managers, coordinating with carriers, drafting letters, and maintaining underwriting files with attention to accuracy and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of life insurance underwriting support experience in an agency or carrier environment.
• Proficiency with data entry and policy administration applications.
• Ability to maintain underwriting files and prepare correspondence related to applications, policies, and endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Support the case manager in completing carrier applications and follow up efforts.
• Monitor each case throughout underwriting and escalate issues to the Case Manager when needed.
• Work with carriers to issue policies.
• Download application kits and populate information for Case Manager review.
• Draft informal and formal cover letters for Case Manager review.
• Assist clients with routine policy service requests throughout the year.
• Maintain organized underwriting files and update Salesforce and SharePoint.
• Provide administrative and project support to the Case Manager and underwriting team.
