Job summary

The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center Indiana is seeking a Life Skills Development Coordinator to create and oversee educational and vocational opportunities for clients, including work readiness, life skills, and continuing adult education.

You will lead educational, professional, and leadership development initiatives, develop IEPs, and support program quality while building collaborations with external agencies and funding partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
• Background checks required and reviewed.
• Experience leading educational groups and working in human services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and oversees life skills and educational opportunities for clients (interviewing, nutrition, wellness, relationships).
• Develops IEPs addressing educational needs (GED prep, classes, CEUs).
• Provides classes for financial restoration and resume building.
• Schedules, conducts outreach, assessments, and staff/volunteer training.
• Arranges transportation to job fairs and attends education-related meetings.
• Maintains learning databases and supports clinical programming.
