Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a Life Skills Development Coordinator in Indianapolis to develop and oversee educational and vocational opportunities for clients, leading life skills and curriculum design within Harbor Light Center.

You will implement IEPs, GED preparation, college enrollment support, and CEU training while coordinating partnerships with local employment centers and community programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or social work required; master's degree preferred.
• Must have valid driver's license and Safe From Harm training within 90 days.
• Experience leading educational groups and working in human services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and oversees life skills and educational opportunities for clients; focuses on interviewing skills, nutrition, wellness, family life and relationships.
• Develop IEPs for clients addressing educational needs (GED prep, high school/college enrollment, CEUs).
• Provide classes for financial restoration and stress management; utilize tools like Right Now Media, Resume Builder.
• Schedule, outreach, assessment, testing, staff/volunteer training, and other instruction responsibilities.
• Attend meetings and conferences; provide transportation to job fairs for clients as needed; coordinate teleconferences on educational changes and trends.
• Develop learning opportunities and conduct educational classes to support clinical programming.
• Oversee databases for evaluation and tracking; lead grants, scholarships, and funding opportunities.
