Job summary

The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center in Indianapolis is seeking a Life Skills Development Coordinator to develop and oversee educational and vocational opportunities for clients. You will lead work readiness, life skills and continuing adult education, and promote curriculum development for clinical programs.

Responsibilities include creating IEPs, delivering classes on financial restoration and stress management, coordinating outreach, and ensuring quality improvement across services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or social work; master’s preferred.
• Background check required; results reviewed.
• Experience leading educational groups; human services preferred.
• Driver’s license and Safe From Harm training within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develops and oversees life skills and educational opportunities for clients.
• Create IEPs addressing GED, college enrollment, CEU’s; support program.
• Deliver classes on financial restoration, stress management; use tools.
• Schedule, outreach, assessment, staff/volunteer training, instruction.
• Coordinate transportation to job fairs and attend meetings; teleconferences on trends.
• Oversee databases for evaluation and tracking; generate reports.
• Lead grants, scholarships, and funding opportunities for education.
• Build relationships with outside agencies and perform outreach.
