Job summary

REACH is seeking a part-time direct support professional in Long Beach, CA to assist in educational, vocational and living skills services for individuals with disabilities. You will work under supervision to advance independent living and vocational goals.

Responsibilities include implementing plans, assisting with daily living activities, transporting participants as needed, maintaining progress notes, and participating in safety trainings and meetings.

Qualifications

• An interest in and willingness to learn and understand issues as they relate to training and vocational needs of individuals with disabilities and adaptive needs.
• A High School diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of vocational, independent and interdependent living skills objectives as per the participant's plan.
• Participate in meetings to provide direct assistance to individuals with disabilities in developing Living Skills and/or Vocational objectives.
• Provide support with daily routines including feeding, grooming, attire, and personal hygiene.
• Record and publish progress notes for assigned individuals; help implement new techniques from trainings.
