Job summary

Abound Health is inviting caring individuals or families in the Lehigh Valley to join the Life Sharing Program as Host Families. This contract role involves welcoming a person with an intellectual or developmental disability into your home, offering stability, daily routines, and meaningful daily experiences.

Host families collaborate with Abound Health to follow person-centered plans, provide companionship, and support independence while maintaining family life in a structured home setting.

Qualifications

• Be Pennsylvania residents (all counties welcome)
• Be at least 21 years old
• Pass required background checks (FBI, child abuse, criminal)
• Complete home inspections and meet safety standards
• Provide personal and professional references
• Participate in interviews and a matching assessment
• Be willing to include the individual in meals, routines, activities, and family life

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, stable, and welcoming home
• Support daily living skills and household routines
• Offer mentorship, companionship, and emotional support
• Encourage community involvement and recreational activities
• Collaborate with Abound Health to follow person-centered plans
• Promote independence, dignity, and personal growth
