Job summary
Abound Health seeks caring families in the Lehigh Valley to join its Life Sharing program as Host Families. This contract role invites you to open your home to an individual with an I/DD, providing belonging, daily structure, and mentorship.
Responsibilities include ensuring a safe home, supporting daily living, promoting community involvement, and collaborating with Abound Health to follow person-centered plans. A daily stipend is provided, along with ongoing training and 24/7 support.
Qualifications
- Must be Pennsylvania residents (all counties welcome)
- Be at least 21 years old
- Pass required background checks (FBI, child abuse, criminal)
- Complete home inspections and meet safety standards
- Provide personal and professional references
- Participate in interviews and a matching assessment
- Be willing to include the individual in meals, routines, activities, and family life
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, stable, and welcoming home
- Support daily living skills and household routines
- Offer mentorship, companionship, and emotional support
- Encourage community involvement and recreational activities
- Collaborate with Abound Health to follow person-centered plans
- Promote independence, dignity, and personal growth
