Job summary
Abound Health is seeking caring individuals or families across Pennsylvania to join our Life Sharing Program as Host Families. This contract position offers a family-like environment where you open your home and heart to an individual with an I/DD.
As a Life Sharing Host Family, you provide a stable home, support daily routines, and foster belonging while collaborating with Abound Health to follow person-centered plans. Training and 24/7 support are provided.
Qualifications
- Be Pennsylvania residents (all counties welcome).
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Pass required background checks (FBI, child abuse, criminal).
- Complete home inspections and meet safety standards.
- Provide personal and professional references.
- Participate in interviews and a matching assessment.
- Be willing to include the individual in meals, routines, activities, and family life.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, stable, and welcoming home
- Support daily living skills and household routines
- Offer mentorship, companionship, and emotional support
- Encourage community involvement and recreational activities
- Collaborate with Abound Health to follow person-centered plans
- Promote independence, dignity, and personal growth
