Job summary

Abound Health invites caring, stable individuals or families across Pennsylvania to join the Life Sharing Program as Host Families. This contract role centers on welcoming someone with an intellectual or developmental disability into a home, offering daily support, companionship, and a structured, family-like setting.

As a Life Sharing Host Family, you provide safety, routine, and mentorship while collaborating with Abound Health to ensure personalized care plans.

Qualifications

• Be Pennsylvania residents (all counties welcome)
• Be at least 21 years old
• Pass required background checks (FBI, child abuse, criminal)
• Complete home inspections and meet safety standards
• Provide personal and professional references
• Participate in interviews and a matching assessment
• Be willing to include the individual in meals, routines, activities, and family life

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, stable, and welcoming home
• Support daily living skills and household routines
• Offer mentorship, companionship, and emotional support
• Encourage community involvement and recreational activities
• Collaborate with Abound Health to follow person‑centered plans
• Promote independence, dignity, and personal growth
