Job summary
Abound Health is seeking caring families across Pennsylvania to join its Life Sharing Program as Host Families. This contract position offers you a stable home environment to welcome an individual with an I/DD, fostering belonging and daily life integration.
As a Host Family, you’ll provide a safe home, support routines, and mentorship while collaborating with Abound Health on person-centered plans. Training and ongoing support are provided, with compensation via a daily stipend.
Qualifications
- Empathy, patience, compassion, and creativity are key traits.
- Be Pennsylvania residents and at least 21 years old.
- Pass background checks (FBI, child abuse, criminal) and complete home inspections.
- Provide personal and professional references and participate in interviews.
- Willing to include the individual in meals, routines, activities, and family life.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, stable, and welcoming home.
- Support daily living skills and household routines.
- Offer mentorship, companionship, and emotional support.
- Encourage community involvement and recreational activities.
- Collaborate with Abound Health to follow person-centered plans.
- Promote independence, dignity, and personal growth.
