AMJ, based onsite in Hallandale Beach, FL, seeks an Editorial Assistant to create and commission content for its medical journals. The role covers journal management, commissioning, peer review, and reporting on conferences, with opportunities in webinars and podcasts.

The ideal candidate has a Biomedical Science or Life Science degree, strong writing and English skills, solid IT abilities (MS Excel/Word), and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Biomedical Science or Life Science degree required.
• Excellent writing and English language skills required.
• Strong IT skills with MS Excel and Word preferred.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills expected.
• Driven and ambitious with a results‑oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage journal pipelines and ensure timely processing and publication per schedule.
• Assist in commissioning journal content using research skills and medical knowledge.
• Write journal and newsletter content including congress reports and news stories.
• Oversee the peer review process to determine suitability for publication.
• Maintain relationships with Editorial Board members and contributors.
• Attend congresses (in-person or virtual) to report on key highlights.
• Commission and organise webinars and podcasts with field experts.
• Produce various content formats through script writing and AV editing.
