Job summary

IPS, a Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks a Design Project Engineer II to join our Cary, NC team. You will provide technical leadership for multidisciplinary design projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality objectives throughout the lifecycle.

Responsibilities include coordinating architects, BIM teams, and vendors; leading design reviews; and supporting change notices, RFIs, and cost estimates. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of progressive experience in a Project Engineer role.
• Experience in the AEC, Pharmaceutical, or Life Sciences industries preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University or College in Engineering or related field.
• Expertise in engineering design programs and BIM tools, e.g., Navisworks.
• General knowledge of system design and applicable codes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and coordination for multidisciplinary design projects.
• Support project planning and execution while ensuring compliance with standards.
• Manage engineering activities and coordination with architects, BIM teams, and vendors.
• Lead design coordination meetings and monitor progress against design basis.
• Assist with design change notices, scope estimates, and RFIs.
• Support cost estimates, vendor submittals, and document control walkthroughs.
