Job summary

IPS, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a Design Project Manager for our Emeryville, CA office. You will provide leadership on assigned architectural and engineering projects, managing scope, schedule, cost, and client relationships to achieve objectives.

You will plan and organize all engineering functions, coordinate with discipline leads, develop the Project Execution Plan, and mentor project engineers while traveling 5–20% as required to client sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience, with at least two in project management.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or planning.
• Strong scheduling, administration, and coordination skills.
• Proficient IT tools: spreadsheets, word processing, planning and scheduling software.
• Familiarity with Earned Value and project controls methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead on project scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
• Manage client interaction and maintain positive relationships.
• Develop and maintain the Project Execution Plan.
• Prepare monthly financial/schedule reports for director and client.
• Mentor and provide guidance to project engineers.
• Identify risks and mitigate with project executives.
