Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Cost Manager to lead cost management on construction projects, from estimating through post-contract closeout. On-site presence may be required based on client needs.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience in cost management, knowledge of procurement routes, value management, and strong communication skills. SOX controls may be part of the role and on-site work could be needed according to client requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience working in a cost management role in the construction industry.
• RICS accredited or working towards it is valuable.
• Experience supporting cost management on medium or large-size construction projects.
• Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred.
• Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on strategies, prequalify vendors, assess proposals and bid documents, chair interviews.
• Develop project estimates including construction costs, fees, direct work, and other costs.
• Present estimates, value engineering recommendations, and risk assessments to clients.
• Review and challenge costs with vendors using benchmark data.
• Manage cost reporting, budgets, spend forecasts, and risk registers.
• Oversee change orders, payment applications, and dispute resolution.
• Oversee final accounting, post-contract audits, and project closeout.
• Conduct post-contract reviews and develop lessons learned and training materials.
• Ensure handover procedures and take-off processes are followed.
• Adhere to SOX controls where applicable.
