Job summary

UG2 in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for second shift to support a life science campus. The role emphasizes HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems, and proactive maintenance on building infrastructure.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain boilers and energy management systems while coordinating with building owners and supervisors. A strong safety mindset and flexibility across shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, plus 3–5 years related experience.
• Wastewater Treatment License or the ability to achieve within six months.
• Proficiency with building management systems.

Responsibilities

• Complete interior and exterior general maintenance projects and work orders.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and trend facilities systems and status through the building management system.
• Conduct repair and preventative maintenance of equipment, systems, and facilities in line with operation manuals, diagrams, sketches, and manufacturers' specifications to increase reliability and useful life.
• Execute preventative maintenance and repairs on various types of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Provide initial response, triage, stabilization, and/or repair for all types of building infrastructure maintenance requests, focusing on HVAC systems.
• Inspect, adjust, modify, and repair boilers, heating systems, cooling systems, and auxiliary equipment.
• Carry out daily/weekly operations, maintenance, and inspections of energy management and fire safety systems.
• Respond to service calls including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and general carpentry & painting duties.
• Communicate status of work and system conditions to owner or supervisor.
• Stay updated on safety codes and participate in training.
• Provide technical support for projects and materials lists for ordering.
