Job summary

Stanford University in Palo Alto seeks a Life Science Research Professional 1 (On-site Only) to support the Hernandez‑Nunez Lab studying brain–body interactions in larval zebrafish using spatial transcriptomics and other molecular profiling methods.

Under Prof. Luis Hernandez‑Nunez, you will gain mentorship in zebrafish systems neuroscience, modern microscopy, and data analysis. This 100% FTE, 1-year fixed-term, non-exempt position is based on campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field.
• General understanding of scientific principles.
• Ability to maintain detailed records of experiments and outcomes.
• General computer skills and ability to learn software and databases.

Responsibilities

• Plan experiments in support of research projects in lab based on scientific theory.
• Independently conduct experiments and maintain detailed records of outcomes.
• Interpret data and suggest modifications to procedures in collaboration with senior researchers.
• Review literature to stay current with new procedures and apply learnings.
• Contribute to publication of findings and assist with documents, presentations, and proposals.
• Maintain lab stock and safety records; provide general lab support as needed.
• Assist with orientation and training of new staff or students in lab procedures.
