Job summary

Stanford University is seeking a Life Science Research Professional 2 for the Hernandez-Nunez Lab on the Stanford campus. The role involves organism-wide circuits for brain-body interactions in larval zebrafish and requires a strong background in Systems/Computational Neuroscience.

100% FTE, on-site, with a 2-year fixed-term commitment. The applicant will join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to experimental design, data collection, and publication readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related scientific field and two years of relevant work experience; or Master’s degree in a related scientific field.
• Experience in neuroscience or biology is a plus.
• Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct a portion of the research project(s) and make recommendations on experimental design.
• Perform complex lab experiments to gather data for major projects.
• Interpret and analyze results and modify procedures as needed.
• Develop new research protocols where appropriate.
• Perform literature reviews and apply findings to ongoing research.
• Contribute to the preparation of papers for publication and present work to colleagues.
