Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a Construction Manager for Life Science projects based out of our Raleigh/Cary, North Carolina location.

You will provide day-to-day leadership on site, manage safety, schedule, and budget, and coordinate multi-discipline contractors with the project team to deliver on-time, on-budget results. Ideal candidates have 8+ years in life science construction and a degree in engineering or construction management, with strong knowledge of LEAN and project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in managing construction projects related to industrial, manufacturing, or life sciences environments.
• Knowledge of general construction activity sequencing and execution.
• Experience with 3D modeling software and time physically present on active construction projects.
• Experience with managing project or scope package budgets.
• Experience with the management of a project schedule.
• Knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance testing/reporting.
• Knowledge of the commissioning and qualification process as it relates to MEP systems.
• Working knowledge and background in management of Project Controls and Procurement strategies and day-to-day management.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of all construction activities on site.
• Manage project safety, quality, schedule, and construction performance.
• Lead and coordinate multi-discipline construction contractors and field personnel.
• Serve as the primary construction point of contact for the client's project management team.
• Interface with engineering, procurement, commercial, and operations stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
• Drive construction planning, sequencing, work packaging, site logistics, and execution strategies.
• Identify and resolve field issues, risks, and interface challenges.
• Provide regular progress reporting and support project controls, forecasting, and change management activities.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in either Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree
