Job summary

Jacobs seeks an experienced Assistant Construction Manager for our Life Science North America group in Richmond, VA. You will oversee safety, budget, schedule and quality on high-profile life science facilities, coordinating with engineers, contractors, and clients to deliver on time and within scope.

You will manage complex submittals, change orders, and project documentation while ensuring robust communication and risk mitigation across all stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering/C construction management or architecture.
• 8+ years of managing construction projects in life science, industrial, or commercial facilities.
• Experience with project controls, budgets, and schedules.
• Knowledge of QA/QC, commissioning, and MEP systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite activities including inspections and field administration tasks.
• Conduct project meetings with contractors and stakeholders.
• Maintain project documentation files and logs.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, materials certifications and turnover deliverables.
• Ensure construction complies with design specs and drawings.
• Manage or support project financials and schedule activity management.
• Complete project closeout with timely records submission to client.
• Foster cooperative partnerships among client, contractor and stakeholders.
