Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. in San Diego seeks an Associate to support underwriting and monitoring of life science tenants within its real estate portfolio. You will assess companies’ science programs, business models, financing, and milestones to identify opportunities and risks for leasing decisions.

You’ll work with the Leasing team, prepare tenant assessments, engage with tenants, and contribute to venture investment diligence and market research across North American markets.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in a life science-related field required.
• Minimum 4 years’ prior work experience in life science; venture investment, investment banking, consulting, or business development preferred.
• Solid understanding of the life science and healthcare industries and drug development.
• Ability to translate complex scientific and financial information into concise reports for leadership.
• Strong research, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Aufgaben

• Conduct scientific, clinical, financial, commercial, and capital markets diligence on prospective tenants to support underwriting and leasing.
• Evaluate tenants’ business models, R&D programs, IP positions, financing histories, and development milestones.
• Collaborate with Leasing team to prepare management meetings and leasing recommendations.
• Engage with prospective tenants to assess scientific programs, plans, funding needs, and space requirements.
• Prepare concise tenant underwriting assessments highlighting strengths, risks, and financial implications.
• Monitor existing tenants’ scientific, clinical, and financial performance and dues.
• Maintain regular contact with tenants to stay informed on material developments.
