Raymond James is seeking a skilled Underwriting Specialist to support life insurance applications submitted by financial advisors/agents. You will coordinate requirements, communicate with underwriters and advisors, identify issues, and work with the Life Care team to ensure client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience in life insurance, annuities, long-term care, and/or disability income products or customer service.
• High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years in related fields; or associates with 1+ year; bachelor’s preferred.
• Ability to organize, manage and track multiple tasks with changing priorities.
• Knowledge of underwriting guidelines and product updates.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to financial advisors/agents in completing life insurance applications.
• Develop and maintain contacts at insurance carriers.
• Keep abreast of product updates and underwriting guidelines.
• Update life team on underwriting issues and case status.
• Communicate with carriers and licensing team as needed.
• Assess risk class and review medical information for qualification.
• Provide status updates via email or phone to advisors.
• Update agency management system as cases move through underwriting.
• Review medical records to ensure all items are received and applicable.
• Coordinate with in-house underwriter on risk classification.
