Job summary

Avamere at Sandy in Oregon is seeking a Life Enrichment Director to plan, organize, and implement resident life enrichment and volunteer programs, including transportation for events across independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities.

You will develop engaging activity calendars, lead a team of Lifestyle staff and volunteers, coordinate with leadership on resident service plans, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering person-centered experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Gerontology, Human Services, Therapeutic Recreation, or Social Services.
• Certified Activity Director preferred.
• Experience in activities department in retirement, assisted living, or long-term care facility.
• Ability to use Windows and Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging short- and long-term activity programs aligned with Ovation's Mission and Core Values.
• Develop and distribute a monthly activities calendar and newsletter for residents and family members.
• Coordinate and schedule outside vendors and presenters.
• Participate in community event planning with the marketing staff.
• Prepare person-centered activities descriptions for the monthly calendar.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure service plans reflect residents' preferences and update in EMR.
• Review resident care plans quarterly for activity-related accuracy.
• Lead and motivate Lifestyle staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality programming.
• Schedule department work hours, vacations, and holidays.
• Counsel/discipline activity personnel with HR coordination.
• Design and oversee group activities and personalized experiences.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain activity records.
• Foster community through celebrations, themed events, and outings.
• Manage departmental budgets, schedules, transportation, and events.
• Make routine visits to residents.
• Participate in state surveys and implement corrective plans with ED.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
