Job summary

Avamere at Park Place in Portland, OR seeks a Life Enrichment Assistant to support memory care residents, collaborating with the Life Enrichment Director to plan, organize, and implement engaging activities.

You will help create diverse programs, lead group sessions, and maintain documentation while ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for residents across independent living, assisted living, and memory care settings.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 25 years old to drive company vehicle.
• Experience in long-term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute and/or critical care clinical setting preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.
• Active and unencumbered Driver's License required.
• Experience with volunteer work and/or activities work with geriatric population.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• CPR/BLS certification active during employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing a diverse range of activities
• Create activity schedules and calendars with varied options
• Prepare activity areas and gather supplies; ensure safety and enjoyment
• Lead group activities and engage residents in one-on-one interactions
• Encourage participation and provide support to residents
• Maintain records of resident participation and feedback
• Communicate with staff, volunteers and families to coordinate activities
• Transport residents to and from activities; assist with setup and cleanup
• Attend staff meetings and training; adhere to safety protocols
