Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced radar DSP engineer to design and simulate end-to-end systems for lunar spacecraft applications. You will develop and validate signal processing algorithms for radar sensing, support Matlab/Simulink code generation, and analyze resource needs.

You will work with hardware teams to select FPGA devices, support bring-up, and implement RTL for prototyping. The role requires strong experience with FPGA/embedded DSP, Verilog/SystemVerilog, and industry-standard

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of DSP experience.
  • Experience implementing DSP on FPGA and/or embedded processor.
  • Experience simulating an end-to-end system to meet performance specs.
  • Proficient with Matlab/Simulink or equivalent modeling environment.
  • Experience designing and optimizing DSP algorithms for radar or other sensors.
  • Proficient with IEEE 802.3, XAUI, PCIe, JESD204, I2C, SPI interfaces.
  • Proficient in writing RTL using Verilog/SystemVerilog/VHDL (SystemVerilog desired).
  • Strong FPGA design concepts, CDC, constraint definition, timing closure.
  • Proficient with FPGA tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and simulation of end-to-end systems to meet performance specs such as range and SNR.
  • Design and validate signal processing algorithms for radar sensing tasks.
  • Support Matlab/Simulink code generation for processing and filtering.
  • Analyze algorithmic computational complexity and hardware resource needs.
  • Signal-to-Noise/Clutter Ratio and RF calibration work.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to select devices (FPGA, ADC/DAC, memory).
  • Support HW bring-up and design verification with EE teams.
  • RTL logic implementation and FPGA prototyping.
