Job summary

Florida Department of Health in Florida's capital region seeks a Customer Service Specialist to support the Licensure Maintenance Team within the Division of Medical Quality Assurance. The role focuses on complex regulatory activities, license renewals, and public record responses, with emphasis on accuracy and privacy.

The incumbent will guide licensed professionals on renewals and verifications, perform database research, and ensure conformance with board rules and statutes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience.
• Ability to interpret and apply continuing education and financial responsibility rules.
• Excellent communication via phone, email, and public settings.
• Ability to understand and explain statutes, rules, and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and organize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with complex questions related to license maintenance and renewals.
• Provide direction and guidance to licensed health care practitioners on renewals, suspensions, and verifications.
• Conduct research in the licensing database to respond to inquiries from the public, applicants, and staff.
• Verify licensure data (dates, education, addresses) and process fee transactions as required.
