Job summary

Florida Department of Children and Families in West Palm Beach is seeking a Licensing Specialist to license substance abuse service providers and assist with designations for Baker Act facilities. This role ensures licensing compliance within required timeframes and handles inquiries from providers and the public.

You will conduct on-site inspections, review applications, generate invoices, and support licensure processes with technical guidance to subcontractors and agencies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, license, and evaluate substance abuse prevention, intervention and treatment programs per licensing standards.
• Implement policies and procedures.
• Conduct on-site inspections of service providers and licenses.
• Investigate licensing violations and complaints.
• Prepare reports and initiate administrative action as required by statute.
• Identify corrective actions necessary.
• Monitor progressive discipline and administrative action processes.
• Review corrective action plans for sufficiency and follow-up monitoring.
