Job summary

Florida Department of Children and Families seeks a Clinical Licensing Specialist for the Northwest Region to oversee SUD licensing, Baker Act designations, and program evaluation. The role requires clinical experience and serves as a regional subject matter expert supporting counties in the NW area.

Responsibilities include monitoring compliance with licensing standards, processing applications, and guiding providers through designation and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field with 3 years social service experience or Master’s degree with 2 years social service experience.
• Licensing experience, substance abuse experience or Certified Addiction Professional preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, license and evaluate substance use disorder prevention, intervention and treatment programs per licensing standards; Chapter 397 F.S. and 65D-30 FAC.
• Input applications, fees, complaints, fines, inspections, corrective action plans and related information into the Department’s official system.
• Assist providers with Baker Act Receiving Facility applications and monitoring per designation standards in Chapter 394 F.S. and 65E-5 FAC.
• Represent the Department in community meetings, work groups and forums related to SUD licensing and designation issues.
• Review incident reporting, fatality reviews and CQI reports to drive regional improvements.
• Coordinate and follow up on complaints/tracker assignments and services.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Northwest Regional Manager and Office of Licensing leadership.
