Job summary

Florida Department of Children and Families is seeking a Regulatory Specialist III - SAMH CS in Tallahassee to ensure substance abuse treatment programs meet state laws and regulations. The role focuses on licensure, monitoring, and continual compliance within a statewide framework.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree or relevant experience and involves interaction with providers, audits, and cross-agency collaboration. Office-based, in-person work is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalents/experience.
• Regulatory or auditing experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Licensure, monitoring, and evaluating substance abuse treatment programs for regulatory compliance.
• Review provider applications and monitor locations annually per licensing standards.
• Generate monitoring and corrective action reports as required.
• Develop proficiency with the PLADS system and enter licensure data.
• Collaborate with AHCA and other partners on audits and investigations.
• Travel in the local area as needed.
