Responsibilities

  • Manage licensee deals through full lifecycle, ensuring contractual compliance, launches, and ongoing performance
  • Collaborate with Licensing leadership to support strategic objectives and contribute to revenue growth
  • Maintain knowledge of video game industry trends, retailer insight, sales lifecycles, line planning and play patterns
  • Analyze licensee performance via sales forecasts and competitive analysis and report insights
  • Engage cross-functional teams and international territory counterparts for alignment
  • Support sales planning and financial alignment with licensee partners
  • Contribute to new licensee recruitment with market research and opportunity identification
  • Develop brand style guides with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with eCommerce to promote company-owned stores and major retailers
  • Prepare pitches, decks, and ad-hoc reports for licensees

About the Opportunity

TalentoHC is partnering with atop gaming company is seeking a Licensing Manager to execute the overall licensing brand strategy for core gaming IP across the Americas, with potential involvement in international merchandise licensing programs. This role covers day-to-day account management, negotiation of licensing deals, partner compliance, tracking of licensing budget and targets, communication with master licensors and domestic/overseas affiliates, and ensuring brand integrity aligns with company objectives and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage licensee deals through their full lifecycle, ensuring contractual compliance, launch execution, and ongoing commercial performance
  • Collaborate with Licensing department leadership to support strategic objectives and contribute to departmental revenue growth goals
  • Maintain deep knowledge of current and emerging trends in the video game industry, retailer insight, sales lifecycles, line planning, and play patterns, to identify new business opportunities
  • Analyze existing licensee businesses via sales comparisons, forecasts, and competitive analysis on a quarterly basis, communicating insights to leadership
  • Engage with cross-functional teams and international territory counterparts, including weekly approval meetings, to ensure alignment
  • Support sales planning and financial alignment by consolidating projections and validating quarterly results with licensee partners
  • Contribute to new licensee recruitment, including blue-sky ideation, incremental business opportunity identification, trend research, and market analysis
  • Develop style guides for each brand in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Creative Services team, master licensors)
  • Collaborate with the eCommerce team to develop a promotional strategy across company-owned stores and major eCommerce retailers
  • Prospect for new licensees, prepare and present pitches, sales materials, presentations/decks, and ad-hoc reports
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Business Administration, Communication, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in licensing or a related industry
  • Strong proficiency in reviewing licensing contracts and fluency in negotiating key business terms
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the video game industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including experience developing clear and effective presentation decks
  • Strong teamwork skills and experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
