Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Eureka, CA for the 26/27 school year. This is a full-time private duty/1:1 role supporting a local K-12 district with nursing services.

Qualifications

• Active LVN license in California.
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification.
• Demonstrated competency in pediatric skills including vent management, assessment, and critical thinking.
• Ability to work independently within LVN scope of practice.
• Experience with school-based nursing is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous observation of the assigned student during the school day.
• Support chronic condition management and assist with procedures per care plans.
• Provide first aid and medication administration.
• Document care and communicate with school teams.
• Accompany student during transportation and community activities when assigned.
• Report significant changes to supervising RN and family.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Active LVN License in California
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification
• Demonstrated competency in the specific skills required for the assigned student including:
• Pediatric skillset
• Vent management
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to safely implement physician orders and care plans within LVN scope of practice
• School-based experience highly preferred

WHAT YOU'LL DO
