Qualifications

• College or college-equivalent education as required to become Credentialed Veterinary Technician.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or working in a veterinary practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate and able to maintain professionalism under stressful situations.
• Telephone and computer skills.
• Willing to be a team player and learn new techniques.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain vitals, and record history in EMR.
• Assist veterinarian with routine and emergency appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia.
• Perform patient restraint, collect lab samples, handle medications, and maintain EMR.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, update records, and manage accounts receivable.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anesthesia, and discharge or transfer as needed.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and care; keep environment clean and organized.
• Train new staff and disseminate knowledge as required.
• Keep hospital neat and maintain maintenance schedule.
