Job summary

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD in Houston, TX is seeking a Licensed Therapist (LPHA) at our CRU location. You will conduct independent assessments and interventions based on treatment plans and consumer needs, with potential travel to homes or field sites.

This role requires a Master’s degree and Texas licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT, plus 1–2 years of post-Masters clinical experience. Strong crisis intervention, diagnostic, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (M.A.) from four-year accredited college or university in a social, behavior, or human service field.

Responsibilities

• Monitors consumer progress with treatment goals to determine effectiveness of interventions.
• Performs clinical assessment to evaluate priority population diagnostic eligibility and treatment needs.
• Provides cognitive behavioral therapy focusing on reduction or elimination of symptoms of severe mental illness and improving daily activities.
• Provides crisis intervention to reduce symptoms and prevent admission to a more restrictive environment.
• Advocates for consumers to ensure needs are met within The Harris Center and in the community.
