Job summary

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD is hiring a Licensed Therapist (LPHA) – Children’s Co-location. You will conduct independent assessments and implement treatment plans, collaborating with inpatient and outpatient teams.

Travel to homes or field sites may be required to deliver services across the Harris County area. Ideal candidates hold Texas clinical licensure (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) with 2+ years in mental health settings and a master’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a social, behavior, or human service field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling).

Responsibilities

• Monitor progress toward treatment goals and assess service effectiveness.
• Perform clinical assessments to determine eligibility and needs.
• Provide CBT focusing on reducing symptoms and improving daily living activities.
• Deliver crisis intervention to prevent hospital admission.
• Provide training on mental illness, medications, and TIMA curricula as designated.
• Assist consumers in gaining access to necessary care and services.
• Participate in formulation of treatment plans and service authorization.
• Ensure services meet eligibility criteria and are properly authorized.
• Advocate for consumer needs within Harris Center and in the community.
• Complete reporting and training accurately and timely.
• Meet divisional productivity standards and maintain ethical conduct.
• Perform related tasks and adapt to changing requirements.
