Job summary

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD in Houston seeks a Licensed Therapist (LPHA) for the Children’s Co-location program. You will conduct independent assessments and develop treatment plans, coordinating care with inpatient and outpatient teams to support client needs.

This role may involve supervision, training, and monitoring at clinical sites, plus travel to homes or field locations. Licensure in LCSW/LPC/LMFT preferred; strong crisis intervention and documentation skills are

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (M.A.) from four-year accredited college or university with a major in a social, behavior, or human service field, including but not limited to: psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, human development, and educational psychology.

Responsibilities

• Monitors consumer progress with treatment goals to determine effectiveness of interventions.
• Performs clinical assessments to evaluate diagnostic eligibility and treatment needs.
• Provides cognitive behavioral therapy focusing on reducing symptoms and improving daily living activities.
• Provides crisis intervention to reduce symptoms and prevent admission to a more restrictive environment.
• Provides training/education on mental illness and medications using TIMA curricula and other trainings.
• Assists consumers in gaining access to necessary care and services.
• Participates in formulation of consumer’s treatment, including assessment, planning, and service authorization.
• Ensures services meet eligibility criteria and are properly authorized.
• Advocates for consumers within The Harris Center and the community.
• Completes reporting/training in a timely manner and meets productivity standards.
