Job summary

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD in Houston, TX, seeks a Licensed Therapist (LPHA) to join our Crisis Intervention Response Team (CIRT). The LPHA provides crisis intervention, mental health assessments, case management, and community-based services in partnership with law enforcement.

You will document encounters, coordinate care across clinics and community programs, and work flexibly with police and deputies to de-escalate crises while following trauma-informed practices and agency

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a social/behavioral or human service field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a mental health setting.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation to individuals in crisis.
• Perform clinical assessments and determine level of care.
• Collaborate with law enforcement to coordinate services.
• Document encounters in electronic health records daily.
• Coordinate access to community resources and transport when needed.
