Job summary

Carle Health, a leading health system in central Illinois, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to evaluate and treat patients of all ages. You will modify the plan of care as needed and educate patients, families, and staff using effective teaching methods.

The role emphasizes collaboration with therapists, accurate documentation, and hands-on treatment modalities such as therapeutic exercise, gait/balance training, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant or equivalent.
• Licensure as PTA and BLS certification required.
• Active Illinois PTA license or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, families, caregivers, and students using effective teaching methods.
• Follows and adapts plan of care based on patient response after communication with evaluating therapist.
• Documents daily notes in the EMR and adheres to policies.
• Provides treatment including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, aquatic therapy as appropriate.
• Coordinates with PT and communicates progress to referring providers.
