Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's DFW Home Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to deliver treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education under a supervising PT, aiming to improve patient well-being in a home care setting.

This role requires following state laws, coordinating with the care team, and communicating with patients and families. Weekend availability, a comprehensive benefits package, and bonus opportunities are included.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice
• Current CPR certification
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client
• Available to work a weekend rotation

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing physical therapy in home care and perform only those procedures defined by the supervising Physical Therapist
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment and coordinate care with the healthcare team
• Educate patient, family, caregiver, and other team members on therapy within the scope of the PTA
