Qualifications

• Current State LPN License.

• New graduate LPNs or those with less than one year of experience will be referred to the LPN residency program.

Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: The LPN assists with data collection and provides feedback to the Registered Nurse from a variety of sources to enhance clinical decisions about treatments and nursing interventions.
• Planning: The LPN provides feedback to the Registered Nurse in the development of nursing diagnoses and carries out the established plan of care and documents reassessments, interventions and patients' responses to interventions.
• Evaluation: The LPN provides real time feedback to the Registered Nurse in the evaluation of interventions and treatments and how they affect patient health status and expected outcomes.
• Quality of Care: The LPN supports the evaluation of care activities, education, and practice environments to ensure the provision of safe, quality care.
• Education: The LPN participates in educational activities to improve clinical knowledge and enhance role performance.
• Collegiality: The LPN shares knowledge, skills, and observations with colleagues and others. Serves as a team member on assigned unit.
