Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System in Georgia is seeking an LPN to support nursing care across centers. You will apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care with physicians' orders.

The ideal candidate holds GA LPN license, BLS, and a High School diploma or GED, with strong communication, confidentiality, and customer service to greet patients and maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Georgia.
• Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient’s physical and emotional needs and provides appropriate care and intervention.
• Performs the initial assessment upon patient’s arrival and develops a plan of care with the physician.
• Performs ongoing assessment and communicates assessment and plan through documentation and verbal reports.
• Documents nursing interventions and implements physician’s orders in a timely manner.
• Correctly administers and documents medication regime.
• Identifies and implements infection control and safety practices.
• Organizes patient care and sets priorities addressing acute needs first and implementing physician's orders timely.
• Serves as clinical resource for MOA’s and other non-licensed staff.
• Maintains skills checklist and assists with performing skills checklist on other employees.
• Completes a minimum of six hours continuing education within the review year.
• Serves as preceptor to nursing students or new nursing staff; cross trains as needed.
• Cross trains to perform basic radiological and laboratory functions.
• Conducts at least one clinically related in-service for center staff during the review year.
