Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates Bay Correctional Facility in Panama City, FL, seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide nursing care to inmates. Responsibilities include med pass, health assessments, and coordinating with providers under RN supervision.

The position requires FL LPN licensure, a completed LPN program, and preferred experience in EKG, phlebotomy, injections, IV, casting, and wound care. Part-time, on-site role with standard facility benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a licensed practical nurse program.
• Active Florida licensure as a practical nurse.
• One year of experience preferred, to include EKG, phlebotomy, injections, IV, casting and wound care.

Responsabilités

• Operate pill call, provide med pass, distribute medication and document as required by applicable policies and procedures in designated location(s).
• Under direction of the RN on duty and in accordance with approved standing orders, obtain initial health information and assist with treatment of inmates reporting to sick call.
• Refer inmates to providers when appropriate.
• Assist with provider line.
• Perform emergency procedures as needed and call physician for treatment orders when necessary.
• Keep equipment and work area clean; Prepare exam room and equipment.
• Control medication, syringes and other medical supplies as required.
• Closely monitor all potential catastrophic illnesses.
• Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records; observe applicable HIPAA rules.

Position summary: A licensed practical nurse is responsible for providing nursing care and assistance for ill and/or injured residents.

Education and experience requirements:

• Graduation from a licensed practical nurse program
• An active licensure as a practical nurse in the state of Florida
• One (1) year of experience preferred, to include EKG, phlebotomy, injections, IV, casting and wound care
• A valid driver’s license in the state of Florida with an acceptable driving record is required, unless waived by management
