Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Lakewood, WA for the 26/27 school year. This full-time private duty/1:1 role supports a local K-12 district with nursing services.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in Washington is required.
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification.
• Competency in pediatric skills, trach/vent care, seizures, G tubes, oxygen, and medication administration.
• Ability to work independently in a school-based setting.
• Experience with 1:1 student nursing care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and routine tasks for students.
• Administer medications following policy and state rules.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes promptly.
• Perform wound care and dressing changes as delegated.
• Coordinate care with RNs, CNAs, physicians, and families.
• Follow infection control and safety protocols.

Job description

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Lakewood, WA for the 26/27 school year! This is a full-time private duty/1:1 role supporting a local K-12 district with nursing services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Active LPN License in Washington
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification
• Demonstrated competency in the specific skills required for the assigned student including:
  • Pediatric skillset
  • Trach and vent care
  • Seizure response and management - competent with seizure action plans and rescue medications
  • G Tube management
  • GJ Tube management
  • Oxygen and airway management
  • Medication administration
  • Diapering
  • Transfers and positioning
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently
• Ability to safely implement physician orders and care plans within LPN scope of practice
• School-based experience highly preferred

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide Direct Nursing Care - Support patients with daily care needs, treatments, and routine nursing tasks.
• Medication Administration - Administer medications and treatments in accordance with WABON rules and facility policies.
• Patient Monitoring - Observe and document changes in patient condition; report promptly to supervising RN or provider.
• Wound Care - Perform wound care and dressing changes as delegated.
• Documentation - Maintain accurate, timely charting in compliance with Washington State standards.
• Care Coordination - Collaborate with RNs, CNAs, physicians, therapists, and families to support patient care plans.
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and WABON ethical and professional standards.
