Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is recruiting a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Olympia, WA for the 26/27 school year. This is a part-time private duty/1:1 role supporting a local K-12 district with nursing services.

As part of our team, you will work under the supervision of an RN, receive clinical backing, and enjoy competitive pay with benefits. You will perform nursing tasks within the LPN scope, document care, and collaborate with school staff to support

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in Washington is required.
• Graduate from an approved practical nursing program.
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification.
• Ability to safely implement physician orders and care plans within LPN scope per WA rules (WAC 246-840-705).
• Experience in Washington healthcare settings (schools, clinics, LTC, home health, or hospitals).
• Familiarity with WABON guidance including Scope of Practice Decision Tree.
• Experience supporting diverse populations and trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous observation of assigned student throughout the school day.
• Support chronic condition management and assist with medical procedures as care plans.
• Provide first aid and medication administration.
• Document care and communicate with school teams.
• Accompany student during transportation and community activities when assigned.
• Report significant status changes to supervising RN and family.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Active LPN License in Washington
• Graduate from an approved practical nursing program
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification
• Ability to safely implement physician orders and care plans within LPN scope of practice defined by WAC 246‑840‑705
• Experience in Washington healthcare settings (schools, clinics, LTC, home health, or hospitals)
• Familiarity with WABON guidance, including the Scope of Practice Decision Tree
• Experience supporting diverse populations and trauma informed care practices
