Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital provides a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position in a Family Practice Clinic. Work hours are full-time, 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday–Thursday, under RN supervision with a focus on patient assessment, care planning, and daily living activities.

Responsibilities include data collection, wound care, specimen collection, medication administration as allowed, and documentation. Licensure in Kentucky and BCLS within 30 days are required; opportunities for professional

Qualifications

• Graduate of a practical nursing program.
• Active Kentucky LPN license or eligible/compact license.
• BCLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT codes and insurance benefits.

Responsibilities

• Under RN direction, collect data for assessment.
• Perform plan of care interventions including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medications under supervision.
• Document patient care accurately.
• Assist with plan of care development and patient activities of daily living.
• Monitor patient status and communicate findings to RN and physician.

How you'll contribute

• Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medication.
• Documents patient care given.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Schedules, appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.
• Attend clinic meetings.
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
• Reports all incidents, hazards, drug interactions, and initiate appropriate action.
• Completes safety instructional programs.
• Assist other team members when time permits.

What we are looking for:

• Education: Graduate of an approved practical nursing program
• License: Current LPN/PN to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and be in good standing with the Board of health Professions
• Active Kentucky license (single state or compact) required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Certifications: BCLS within 30 days of hire
• Minimum Work Experience: Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT codes, insurance benefits and healthcare backgrounds
