Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to provide professional nursing care for residents across long-term care settings. You will work under supervision, applying nursing principles to resident care plans and participating in testing as needed.

Job description

• Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician
• Apply nursing principles and age- and population-specific standards according to resident care plans
• Perform testing to evaluate resident status and provide needed care
• Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations
• Ensure resident health, comfort, and safety
• Contribute to resident assessments and administer ordered medications or treatments
• Provide technical support to healthcare professionals
• Document resident interactions and outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary needs
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public
• Work with professional and supportive personnel as part of an interdisciplinary care team
• Communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Counsel residents, family members, and/or resident advocates under clinical supervision on prevention and treatment plans
• Develop resident self-care programs using resident education principles
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Travel required to support multiple locations within 75-mile radius of permanent address
• 3 months experience in Long Term Care required (6 months preferred)
• Minimum of 30 hours per month
• One weekend shift per month
• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Pre-licensure nursing program including supervised clinical experience across the life span, or minimum 400 hours of LPN experience at another facility
• Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
• Must maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications
• Must complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements
• If position requires IV therapy/management skills in North Dakota: graduation from a Board-approved AASPN program with IV therapy in the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
