Jobtailor is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide professional nursing care for residents in long-term care under supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. You will demonstrate nursing principles and competency across the full scope of nursing practice and perform testing to evaluate resident status, providing needed care.

Qualifications

  • Current LPN license in good standing with a State Nursing Board and/or multi-state licensure privileges.
  • Minimum 18 years of age and ability to travel to multiple locations within a 75-mile radius.
  • Must have completed supervised clinical experience across the lifespan or 400 hours as LPN at another facility.
  • Attend required CEUs and competency training annually.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care under supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician
  • Demonstrate nursing principles and competency within the full scope of nursing expertise
  • Perform testing to evaluate data reflective of residents' status and provide needed care
  • Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations
  • Ensure residents' health, comfort, and safety
  • Contribute to resident assessments and administer medications or treatments as ordered
  • Provide technical support to healthcare professionals
  • Document resident interactions and outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary needs
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public
  • Work as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
  • Communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Counsel residents, family members, and/or resident advocates under clinical supervision on prevention and treatment plans
  • Develop resident self-care programs using resident education principles
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Job description

Requirements
  • 3 months experience in Long Term Care required
  • 6 months experience preferred
  • Travel required to support multiple locations within 75-mile radius of permanent address
  • Minimum of 30 hours per month
  • One weekend shift per month
  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span, or have a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
  • Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
  • Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications
  • Complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements
  • If position requires IV therapy/management skills in North Dakota: graduation from a Board-approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
