Job summary

St. Joseph Hospice in Hattiesburg, MS is hiring full-time Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN). The role centers on delivering compassionate nursing care under the supervision of RNs, coordinating with the hospice team, and ensuring documentation and regulatory compliance.

• Current Mississippi LPN license required.
• 2-3 years of LPN experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Dependable transportation, valid driver’s license, and car insurance.
• Hospice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing and supportive care per the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care under the RN’s direction.
• Coordinate with attending physicians and hospice team to ensure optimal patient care and resource use.
• Document all services on appropriate forms.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid hospice regulations.
• Report changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Support ESOP and the company’s ownership culture.

Qualifications:

• Current Mississippi Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required
• Minimum of 2-3 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Current CPR certification required
• Have dependable transportation, driver’s license, and car insurance
• Previous Hospice experience preferred

Job duties:

• Provides nursing and supportive care in accordance with the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care, under the direction of the RN.
• Communicates with the attending physicians, other hospice team members, and other agencies as needed to coordinate optimal care and use of community resources for the patient/family
• Document all services provided and submit them on appropriate forms.
