Job summary

Ascension Via Christi, St. Francis in Wichita, KS is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care on the cardiovascular unit. You will help with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and ensure accurate documentation to assist the care team.

This role emphasizes compassion, timely reporting to the RN, and accurate data entry to support patient progress. Active enrollment in an accredited nursing program is preferred, with eligibility for tuition benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma equivalency or active enrollment in a related nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing and positioning to maintain dignity and comfort.
• Capture vital signs and monitor intake/output to provide data for care decisions.
• Act as a link in the care team by observing patient conditions and reporting changes to the RN for rapid response.
• Record patient data accurately and update care plans to keep the team informed on progress.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• You will assist patients with the fundamental activities of daily livingâsuch as bathing, dressing, and positioningâwith a focus on maintaining their dignity and comfort.
• You'll sharpen your technical skills by accurately capturing vital signs and managing intake/output measurements, providing the data our team needs to make informed care decisions.
• You will serve as a critical link in the chain of care, monitoring patient conditions and reporting significant changes directly to the Registered Nurse (RN) to ensure rapid response to patient needs.
• By meticulously recording patient data and updating care plans, you ensure that every member of the healthcare team has a clear, real-time picture of the patient's progress.

Education

What minimum requirements you’ll need

• High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline required.

Additional Preferences

• Current Nursing Enrollment: You are actively pursuing your nursing degree through an accredited LPN program.
